MAKTAB PROGRAM:
A comprehensive after school Islamic education for all ages, keeping your children in touch with the masjid on a daily basis
At Al-Qur’an Classes your child will learn how to read the Holy Qur’an with proper Tajweed.
Based on the child’s and parents’ interest, the student can also memorize the Qur’aan in our regular evening program or advanced Hifz program. In addition, we also teach Fiqh, Seerah, Duas, and Hadith, translation of the Qur’an, Arabic, Aadaab and Akhlaq (daily social etiquette). Classes are for all ages and\skill levels for girls and boys.
OUR MISSION:
The Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: “The best amongst you are those who learn the Qur’an and teach it to others.” (Bukhari)
Our mission is to help students of all ages, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds learn how to read and write the Quran, gain a deeper understanding and respect for Islam, and learn how to implement principles of Islam in their daily lives.
ABOUT US:
Al-Quran Classes began as a small project in 1999 with the help of Allah (swt) and a few dedicated community members. Over the past 27 years, Alhamdulillah, this program has helped thousands of students learn how to read and memorize the Holy Quran with Tajweed. Our sessions are held in the evening allowing students daily interaction at the masjid while continuing with their secular education in the morning.
Our curriculum begins with recognition and correct pronunciation of the Arabic letters. As students progress, they learn how to construct words by utilizing vowels. This ultimately enables them to read the verses of the Holy Quran and with continuous practice they become capable of reading the Holy Quran independently. To further enhance their skills, interested students proceed to memorizing the Quran; almost all students memorize at least half of the 30th Juz, which they incorporate in their five daily Salahs.
In addition to making our students fluent in reading the Quran, Quran Classes provide a well-rounded Islamic education tailored to each child’s level of understanding and age.
OUR CURRICULUM:
- Qaidah, Nazira of the Qur’an (Recitation), and Hifz-ul-Quran (Memorization)
- Fiqh, Seeratun Nabi, and Seeratul Ambiya
- Aklaaq and Adaab, Proper performance of Salaah
- Dua, Hadith, and their meanings
- Arabic as a language
MESSAGE TO THE PARENTS:
To educate our children is our religious responsibility. We must make every effort to bring the light of Islam to our children with the help of the Quran and Sunnah, so they are able to follow Islam to their fullest capacity and enjoy peace and success in their lives as well as in the hereafter. The Quran is the greatest gift of Allah (swt). Regardless of our age, we as a community need to recite, understand, and practice the Holy Quran, implementing it in our daily lives as it is our comprehensive lifelong guide. Aameen.
