ICLI PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES
Islamic Center of Long Island has several programs for children, youth and adults.
The religious education of children is a central activity at ICLI. The Weekend School (Sat/Sun), Pre-School (IC Kids) and the Quran Nazirah & Hifz Program together have about 400 registered students. The faculty members comprise of more than 40 individuals who come from teaching backgrounds, many at the Masters level. ICLI Educational Program has classes ranging from four years old to 12th grade at high school. Alhamdulillah!
The youth concentrate heavily on how Islamic behavior translates into every day life here in the United States. Controversial subjects such as the place of financial interest in everyday banking, gender roles, dietary issues are discussed in depth. The aim of the ICLI is to prepare these youngsters to be well informed individuals about such topics so that they may put these teachings into practice in their personal lives as well as teach others.
Our educational programs such as the weedend seminars and halaqas were developed to assist our adults in understanding the meaning and relevance of Islam's values in everyone's daily lives. There are a variety of sessions, where adults gain spiritual knowledge of their faith as well as inspiration in thoughtful lessons to handle life challenges.
