Teacher/ Teacher Assistant – Early Childhood Special Education Posts Open for Special Ed Classroom
Location: Islamic center of Long Island,
835 Brush Hollow Rd, Westbury, NY
Schedule: Saturdays | 3-hour shift | Job Type: Part-time
Overview:
ICLI capable companions Saturday school is seeking caring, motivated and dedicated Teacher Assistants to support children with different abilities, in an inclusive early childhood setting.
Responsibilities:
- Support individualized Islamic learning activities under the Lead Teacher
- Assist with group activities and classroom routines
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers
- Share observations and student progress with the Lead Teacher
- Build a bond with parent & child’s support groups for their better learning Requirements
- Experience with young children or special needs preferred (training provided)
- Basic understanding of ABA is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High School Diploma required; related degree preferred
